Job Description:

Responsibilities:


• Lead the development and implementation of highly-complex internet and intranet applications.
• Provide direction, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• Architect, design, and implement significant application features, as well as new applications in the ServiceLive product line.
• Evaluate systems specifications and web application requirements to determine the most efficient and cost-effective solution.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and development estimates.
• Research and track new Web technologies.
• Build and maintain software according to established standards.
• Write clear and concise technical documentation.
• Review business requirements and provide feedback regarding ambiguities to the BA team.

Competencies:

• 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development including but not limited to Servlets, JSP, JSTL, XML, Struts, Spring, Hibernate (or IBATIS), Ant, and JUnit.
• Familiarity with web development technologies such as AJAX, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript, and JQuery.
• 3+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Proficiency in all of the following: Linux, Subversion, Eclipse (or similar IDE).
• Experience with JBOSS would be a plus.
• Experience with Agile development environments and iterative development.
• High proficiency with OO analysis and Design Methodologies and Design Patterns.
• Occasional production support
• Experience developing and implementing SOA solutions
• Application builds and code merges
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well with both business and technical partners
• Degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution.
• Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, and verbally.
• Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity.
• Able to set and meet specific external and internal deadlines, and follow through with quality work products.
