Job Description:
As the VP of Sales, you will be accountable for leading a team of 20+ sales, account executives and support team and 4 functional managers. You will be responsible for setting the overall sales and service strategy and vision and overseeing how we attract, contract, maximize and retain our advertisers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Strategy, Service Strategy, Revenue and Execution
Sales
Define the strategy and vision for the sales department and develop revenue forecasts and departmental budgets.
Contribute strategically to the growth and direction of Q Interactive products and services through evangelizing our proposition to the advertiser community
Set policies and process and procedure guidelines
Develop strategies for penetrating new markets.
Establish and maintain significant relationships with senior level people at advertisers and agencies.
Develop and maintain marketing intelligence and an understanding of market trends, client business needs, and industry reactions to the company's initiatives.
Service
Set, communicate and oversee the overall service strategy for the company to maximize client satisfaction and revenue generation.
Ensure there is a corporate-wide and consistent approach to service delivery.
Ensure complete delivery against contracted services to maximize projected revenue.
Work with the team to evaluate up selling opportunities, renewal strategies, and profit maximization
Day-to-day management
Set targets and metrics, monitor progress and report on sales activity. Such metrics to be included are: account lists, activity metrics, negotiation guidelines, etc
Ensure that all online advertising sales goals are achieved or exceeded.
Serve as the corporate “voice of the customer" ensuring client opinions, concerns and opportunities are represented internally
Responsible for hiring, training and mentoring individual team members
Seek new ways to promote teambuilding, knowledge sharing and strategic thinking. Develop and articulate a broad, strategic, continuously evolving view of the business that leads to new, enhanced and/or competitive advantages within the marketplace.
Participate in strategic business discussions regarding the future of the company
Advise and assist in the negotiations and sales efforts with Q Interactive’s largest advertisers
Ensure client satisfaction by measuring internal performance and client satisfaction.
Help resolve any major conflicts with clients and ensure absolute satisfaction with our service.
Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing
Support the finance department in client invoicing, account information, credit and payment related activities.
Stay educated on market trends and competitive offerings and share important information with the team and the organization.
Visit clients frequently to build long term, senior relationships that offer a marketplace advantage. Travel is 25%.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Strategic thinker, proven track record of driving significant revenue results in rapidly growing environment
Senior-Level Sales Management experience, leading large high-performing sales organizations
10+ years in advertising sales, including 5+ years management experience.
Recognized industry presence and significant senior level contacts in the media industry
Business and analytical skills to oversee financial and administrative areas including sales administration, financial reporting, planning and budgeting, sales support, etc.
Bottom line orientation.
Deep cross-functional knowledge and experience with all operations within sales
Demonstrated ability to create and execute on a long-term sales strategy.
BA/BS required
