Our client has retained us to recruit a Sales Director that could be based in either the Chicago or New York Metro Markets.
This individual will manage a growing group of sales professionals and independent agents and will be responsible for overall management of sales efforts. Our client has created this new position to focus on a less-developed sector of their industry. While the Sales Director will be able to draw on the marketing function and other resources of a well-established company, the role will have special appeal for an individual who possesses an entrepreneurial spirit. Impressive revenues are projected over the next several years, and it is anticipated that the Sales Director’s role will expand accordingly, as the sales team multiplies and more product offerings are added.
Key Requirements:
• At least 3-5 years of successful general management experience including full sales, operational and P&L responsibility for a business of at least $25M.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in direct sales, sales management or business development in a relevant sales field (preferably consumer goods, event/sports marketing, marketing services, or hospitality).
o Experienced and comfortable with all phases of the selling process to include planning, prospecting, qualifying, presenting, closing, etc.
o Able to expertly coordinate efforts with marketing to stimulate product awareness and demand and to make recommendations for new programs and promotional activities
o Stature and stamina to oversee the selling efforts that will build this venture from start-up to a high-volume national sales program.
• At least 3-5 years of direct operational management including:
o Management of the recruiting and sales training processes.
o Design and oversight of the project management and quality initiatives needed to drive a new venture.
o Proactive career development, performance management, and retention programs tailored to sales professional
