Teavana is one of America’s most unique and fast-growing specialty tea retailers. We were awarded as one of the hottest retailers by the International Counsel of Shopping Centers and mentioned as having an innovative retail concept on CNNMoney.com. We carry approximately 105 varieties of loose leaf tea, a variety of the highest quality teapots and an assortment of tea accessories from around the world. We currently have just over 100 stores nationwide and are opening approximately 25-30 new stores in 2009.

The name, Teavana, means “a heaven of tea” and is a reflection of the companies desire to enrich the lives of our guests through the health benefits of tea. We are a socially conscious company that actively participates in EquaTrade partnerships and donates a percentage of company profits to CARE International. General Managers at Teavana are responsible for growing their stores business, controlling expenses and fostering a high level of customer service and team work within their stores! They must be able to effectively manage within a sales oriented environment, setting realistic yet challenging goals and motivating team members to achieve positive results, while giving timely feedback and regularly recognizing a job well done!

To be successful, a General Manager with Teavana should:

- Enjoy helping people improve their well-being by promoting the health benefits of tea.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of the companies’ products and services.
- Be able to effectively manage in a selling culture.
- Recruit and train sales staff as needed.
- Motivate, monitor and develop team members (set clear performance goals and targets).
- Provide timely and accurate feedback on team member performance.
- Lead by example (to include selling).
- Develop action plans for consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals and controlling expenses.

General Managers are paid a base rate that averages between the mid 30ks up to 40k, plus a monthly bonus potential. The bonus program is a generous, unit performance driven incentive program with no cap on amounts. We also offer a comprehensive employee benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, FSA, 401k with company match, paid time off and more.

Requirements     To be successful, all candidates should:

- Have a minimum of 2-3 years managing the overall operations of a retail store (related management exp may be considered).
- Retail experience is preferred.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
- Have an aggressive work ethic.
- Ambition to grow with Teavana.
- Ability to Multi-task.
