Job Summary       
Senior Manager of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

 

Orbitz Worldwide is looking for an individual to lead Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts for its US brands – Orbitz.com & Cheaptickets.com. The successful candidate will report to Senior Director of eMarketing and help shape and execute SEO strategies on some of the largest and complex web sites in the world. The SEO Senior Manager will be the Marketing lead and collaborate with Product & Development groups on all major initiatives involving SEO.

Responsibilities:

·        Maximize organic traffic growth on Orbitz sites through SEO.

·        Evangelize SEO throughout the organization, which includes providing in person training. Educate staff on the latest trends in SEO techniques.

·        Define SEO requirements in a marketing/product management capacity by recommending site enhancements that maximize ROI and increase rank of natural search result listings.

·        Optimize site architecture, URL structures and content for maximized indexing and keyword relevance.

·        Research and develop SEO best practices to identify new market opportunities and maximize traffic growth and identify a robust SEO keyword list.

·        Develop strategies to leverage web 2.0, social networking, user generated content and PR releases to drive qualified traffic.

·        Ensure that SEO techniques and strategy are well implemented and consistent across sites.

·        Regularly report on key metrics and project status, to stakeholders across the organization. Consult and problem solve individual issues when needs arise.

·        Accountable for all business performance metrics related to SEO.

 

Qualifications

·        Minimum 4-6 years related experience preferably in a large ecommerce organization or SEO agency.

·        BA/BS degree in a related discipline required.  Advanced degree in Computer Science and/or Marketing desirable.

·        Good understanding of content management systems and knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, FLASH, CSS etc.

·        Excellent analytical skills to analyze large quantities of data across marketing channels.

·        Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced and highly flexible environment

·        Proficiency in paid and free SEO tools

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs particularly Excel data modeling including use of pivot tables and Power Point

·        Hands on experience with web analytics tools & search engine referral tracking/benchmarking

·        Strong attention to detail

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills
