JOB SUMMARY 


Direct Commerce is a critical growth engine for Sears Holdings, and is undergoing dramatic expansion.  The business development manager is responsible for leading the effort to identify, recommend, and implement new strategic business and merchandising opportunities for area(s) of responsibility.  Successful candidates will analyze the competitive landscape as well as marketplace trends and opportunities and implement new programs accordingly.  As a vital member of the Direct Commerce organization, the business development manager will also lead the development of the buying team(s) to ensure the execution of strategic and tactical merchandising initiatives, while exceeding EBITDA goals.

  • Known for identifying critical business opportunities and deconstructing vision into tactical and effective business plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • This person will oversee the implementation of aggressive acquisition and relationships marketing efforts for an innovative set of customer direct programs unique in the marketplace.

  • Lead the market assessment of new experiences, assortments and technologies that may be competitive or complimentary to the ecommerce merchandise strategy.Collaborate with senior leaders to identify business needs and prioritization.

  • Assess online merchandise gaps.  Identify, recommend, and implement external partners to create a best in class online assortment.Negotiate vendor contracts, margin agreements, and key selling strategies.

  • Use SHC analytic tools to review key opportunities to increase conversion, average selling price, and visits.

  • Analyze key financial data to ensure EBITDA numbers are met monthly.

  • Monitor initiatives from initiation through delivery, interfacing with senior leadership on operational, technical or execution related issues.

  • Prepare recommendations, financial models and presentations for senior management.

  • Influence and motivate a team of associates to exceed sales and margin goals.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested.
