Senior Research Manager


Position Summary


As a Senior Research Manager you will be responsible for client management, development of proposals, implementation of client projects and programs as well as analysis and delivery. You will work with/meet with clients to understand the business issues/client needs to then link with appropriate research approaches and products. You will develop and design the proposal for your client research needs and manage deliverables to meet or exceed client expectations.


 


Key Responsibilities



  • Design, implement and flawlessly execute several copy-testing projects at varying stages for a variety of clients or client divisions

  • Lead communication and meetings with clients to determine optimal project design and flow

  • Ensure all internal functions (client services team, research associates, operations) understand project design and expected outcomes, and monitor the progress of projects to ensure successful completion

  • Proactively work with cross-functional team members to anticipate client needs and ensure common understanding and commitment/alignment. As appropriate, share and gather client information with/from client service colleagues to ensure seamless execution and communication

  • Adapt product solution to meet client needs and work with appropriate internal resources to design appropriate solution

  • Diplomatically respond to difficult or unusual client issues and professionally influence appropriate internal resources

  • Create in-depth analytic conclusions and recommendations from data results that considers client needs and business issues and demonstrate industry knowledge

  • Utilize understanding of all ASI advertising research tools (in depth understanding of Copy Testing; general understanding of T&BE) and client business needs to identify potential new business opportunities and discussing insights/ strategy with manager

  • Effectively manage and mentor direct reports to develop client understanding, project management skills, and analytic abilities

  • Ensure completion of final presentation including top line and close-to final analytical conclusions and recommendations

  • When appropriate, assist in or formally present results and recommendations to client


 


 


Ideal Candidate has the following Skills and Experience



  • Undergraduate degree

  • 5-7 years experience in Market Research/Advertising Research experience on the client or supplier side

  • Excel at multi-tasking and able to prioritize issues in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly developed analytic skills and experienced at drawing conclusions beyond the data, incorporating understanding of client needs, industry knowledge, etc.

  • Proposal writing experience – Skilled at responding to and consulting with clients as well as addressing and anticipating their needs

  • Project Management - Demonstrated ability to grasp big picture research issue and determine the scope and tasks needed to accomplish the goal and can anticipate and resolve issues as required

  • Ability to quickly learn Ipsos ASI research products and services including conceptual R& D underpinnings of tools vs. competition and vs. need of clients; ability to design, explain; analyze and develop full report of results

  • Consultative and service orientation – can effectively translate product solution to meet client needs and work with appropriate internal resources to design appropriate solution

  • Management, coaching and mentoring orientation – Able to direct the work of others functionally as well as cross-functionally

  • Presentation skills - proven ability to effectively present to client, under minimal supervision of a more senior manager

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
