SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Supply Chain Management is responsible for the supply chain activities for the Company. He or she is accountable for implementing and managing supply chain continuous improvement activities that will result in meaningful improvement in efficiencies and cost reductions. More specifically:
· The development and implementation of programs and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of:
§ The procurement function (excluding bulk beans and aluminum). Cost savings within quality standards.
§ The inventory control function. Improved turnover and accuracy, improved stock rotation and reduced obsolescence.
§ The customer service function. Effective customer communication and complete customer satisfaction.
§ The transportation function. Freight cost savings and complete and on time delivery.
· The providing of feedback to operations, sales and procurement regarding supply chain failures and/or customer concerns.
· The handling of vendor negotiations and contracts involving:
§ The procurement of packaging items.
§ In bound and out bound freight.
· The identification and implementation of improvements to the Company’s supply chain processes.
EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
· 10+ years experience in supply chain management positions with a commendable career progression.
· Successful supply chain management experience in:
§ The consumer packaged goods industry, where short lead times are prevalent.
§ A SKU intensive company or companies.
§ A company servicing mass merchants and/or supermarkets.
§ In a multi-plant environment.
· Demonstrably successful track record of:
§ Securing cost savings via improved procurement practices.
§ Improved inventory accuracy.
§ Improved bulk item and FG inventory turnover.
§ Reduced cost of obsolete and/or slow moving inventory
§ Ensuring timely and complete deliveries to maximize sales.
§ Achieving transportation cost efficiencies via vendor evaluation and negotiation, the securing of preferred rates, etc.
· Strong customer focus!
· Effective negotiating skills.
EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
· Successful supply chain management experience in the store brand industry.
· Successful supply chain management experience in the food industry.
· APICS certification(s).
EDUCATION REQUIRED
· BS/BA in a business or operations discipline.
