Print Production Manager

seeking a Print Production Manager to meet the growing needs of our
client base. InnerWorkings offers a network of more than 7,000 approved suppliers
and proprietary technology to manage the procurement process on behalf
of its client base. InnerWorkings handles all aspects of print
production for its clients and delivers a virtually unlimited range of
print options including direct mail, magazines, point-of-purchase,
books, brochures, catalogs, stickers, CDs and DVDs.
Job Description: Print Production Manager
General duties and qualifications:
Coordinate
print production schedules, print specifications, quotes and billing
for assigned account. Initiate requests for bids, customer quotations,
and vendor purchase orders.
Work
with the assigned customer to select potential vendors for any given
project, negotiate the best possible pricing and schedules as required
to secure individual projects, and ensure that the end result meets the
client’s requirements.
Responsible
for timely approval of vendor invoices and timely billing of end
clients on all projects managed. Must be familiar with a wide variety
of the commercial print production concepts, practices and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Strong project management skills are a must.
Must
be proficient in MS Office Suite, high aptitude for MS Excel and able
to balance heavy work-load and the client needs efficiently.
Specific responsibilities:
Analyze
preliminary specifications from account to insure that all client
specifications, quality expectations, art availability and required
delivery dates are clearly identified.
Investigate
potential suppliers and recommend those most desirable based on
knowledge of manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and
schedule availability.
Enter all
specifications into proprietary order management system (PPM4), prepare
request for bid specifications, and send to selected vendors.
Maintain accurate price quotation data in proprietary order management system for all projects / vendors quoted.
Generate
purchase orders in proprietary order management system for client
accepted Formal Quotes and send copy to the vendor the job has been
awarded to.
Manage all aspects of
production with vendors on behalf of client, conferring with vendors
concerning delivery timetables and maintaining a current status of
assigned projects at all times.
Expedite operations that delay or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Verify
invoices from suppliers with PO’s issued to insure all charges are
legitimate and were pre-authorized. Modify, as appropriate, and approve
vendor bills for payment in a timely manner.
Prepare and submit to client, invoices reflecting Formal Quoted prices and billable alterations in a timely manner.
Interview
potential new supplier representatives regarding specifications, costs,
inspection, and production capabilities, and add new vendors to
proprietary order management system as needed.

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience within the graphic arts, agency or printing industry.
