Job Description
Overview:
The Distribution Center Manager Trainee Program is designed to provide Menards with well-trained TM’s in our rapidly expanding company.  As we continue to grow, we face the task of producing qualified Managers at a faster rate.  Recruiting qualified college grads will give our company the staff needed to compete in the world of distribution. 
 
The structure of our MT program is set up to be building specific although not limited to it.  Each building will have its own structured format.  As the MT advances through their hired building, he or she will eligible for promotions in their building as well as other buildings.  In some cases due to time constraints, an MT may be moved around before completing a building to fill a position.  This move usually transpires into a promotion.  This program will help track the knowledge of the MT’s if a move develops prematurely.  MT’s will gain hands on experience as they climb the ladder of success.  Understanding the functions of their building and others will enhance their knowledge and thus give them experience needed to join our Management team.   

Additional tasks will include completion of several Supervisor/MGMT Seminars.   The Department Manager will give out other projects periodically.  

MT has completed the program when he or she has been promoted into Management and provided a contract. 

Work and learn all areas of the Distribution Center including:
    * Shipping
    * Receiving
    * Cross Dock
    * Transportation
    * Inventory and Stock

Supervise/Manage Departments:
    * Operational Scheduling
    * Goal Setting
    * Training
    * Performance Coaching
    * Interview / Hiring
    * Discipline

Skills/Requirements
Manager Trainees should also have:
    *Leadership Abilities
    *Self-motivation and be Goal oriented
    *Innovative ideas
    *Proficient written and verbal skills
    *Proficient organizational skills
    *Ability to multitask
    *Decision making capabilities

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas:
