Position Summary:


 
The Sr HR Manager is a member of the Sara Lee Fresh Bakery HR Leadership Team, which will support the Fresh Bakery corporate functions (Finance, Customer Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, Retail Stores & Process and Productivity), serve as the Fresh Bakery HR Leader for key HR processes and initiatives impacting the Fresh Bakery segment and provide strategic HR support for the Fresh Bakery Manufacturing organization working directly with the VP Manufacturing. It is important that this individual support and drive HR strategy through the business in partnership with local management. The Sr HR Manager will work closely with local business leaders and the Bakery HR Leadership Team to support deployment of a comprehensive HR Strategy for the Fresh Bakery organization. The full range of generalist knowledge will be needed to drive successful labor strategy, performance management, compensation planning, and talent development.


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintains positive employee relations, responds to employee concerns and coaches managers in effective leadership.

  • Accurately diagnoses organizational issues, develops solutions, and implements them.

  • Develops and implements HR policies and procedures in support of business needs.

  • Ensures compliance and maintains a thorough knowledge in such as areas as Global Business Practices, EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Provides HR generalist support in the areas of compensation, benefits, staffing, diversity, on boarding and transitions in/out of the organizations supported.

  • Assists leadership in managing performance and developing talent through PMP, performance improvement plans (PIP), discipline, succession planning, and training and development.

  • Leads change efforts in support of business strategy.

  • Develops and monitors Human Resources metrics in support of the People Strategy.

  • Leads employee communication efforts across the organizations supported.





Qualifications


 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.  Masters degree in HR preferred.

  • Minimum of eight years of progressive functional experience including a lead role in HR at a manufacturing facility.

  • Previous HR experience in union and nonunion settings preferred.

  • Demonstrated capability in technical HR competencies and business knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to get results within a team environment and to develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and HRIS systems.

  • Knowledgeable in employment laws and regulations

  • Requires a minimum of 15% travel.
