Our Geological Petrographer/Petrologist examines construction materials including concrete, stone, stucco, mortar, grout, and other similar materials, working out of our state-of-the-art laboratory in Northbrook, IL.
Qualified applicants will hold a Master’s degree in Geology, Mineralogy, Geological Engineering , or a related field, with coursework in Petrography and/or Petrology. (A Bachelor’s, along with equivalent experience, will also be considered.) Experience in sample selection, visual examination, sample preparation, the use of petrographic and stereo-zoom microscopes is desired. Excellent communications skills are a must. In this position, you will be mentored by highly experienced and talented professionals.
