Description:

The Service Manager assists the Service Account Manager to develop and implement the overall maintenance project plan that may include design, manufacturing, and installation of the complete sign program working with in budget and acceptable gross margins. This individual works closely with other team members and may need to coordinate efforts from the Art and Engineering departments to develop manufacturing drawings based upon guidance from the client.  Once drawings are obtained, the individual submits orders to Manufacturing to insure that the signs are fabricated correctly and with Production Control to insure that they are shipped on schedule.  The individual must select approved subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and insure the quality installation of the signs.  Once the signs are repaired or installed, the individual must obtain approvals for the client and then submit complete billing packages to the Service Account Manager for approval.


Project Development


Define and verify scope of work and location requirements with customer, build relationship with Property Managers, define service/product requirements, review product designs, initiate preliminary surveys, coordinate the production of artwork, engineering and estimating as required, develop production approach including establishing standard sign family and blanket orders, develop and recommend pricing parameters, incorporate all issues into the initial proposal or final bid for customer approval, and establish the initial WinDMS database.


 


Project Planning


Once the order is received, assign IMS qualified subcontractor, check graphic and engineering drawings, review and check product specifications, review requirements with Production Control, expand the WinDMS database as necessary, secure repair/installation drawings from the Art Department, establish customer billing contact, agree on billing and project reporting procedures, secure customer approval as needed, seek bids from and negotiate subcontractor installation pricing.  Follow budget and gross margin formulas; update the WinDMS database on a timely basis.


 


Project Execution


Obtain and review preliminary surveys and quotes, subcontract technical surveys, finalize recommendations for signs, obtain customer approvals and completion photos for billing, and enter / initiate the Work Order.   Prepare the billing package for Service Account Manager review, monitor accounts receivable and coordinate with Accounting/Credit to minimize delinquencies.



Requirements:

Education


Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience is preferred.  Business majors are preferred. 


 


Experience


One to three years of similar project management experience in a multi-state environment is required.  Specific experience with a large sign company or with the construction trades that operate on a regional or national level is preferred.  This individual must be computer literate and fluent in word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications, (MS Office products primarily).  Experience using computer-based project tracking systems to monitor project status would be extremely helpful.  This person must be able to interface successfully with a dedicated team of customers and employees from Project Management, Sales, Production, Finance/Accounting, and MIS.
