The Senior Consultant will have general knowledge of hospital organization and operations and have previous healthcare facility planning experience.
Responsibilities:
Facilities Assessment: Preparation of assessments of the quantity and quality of space throughout all clinical and support services using NCI methodologies, including taking responsibility for the collection of relevant operating and facilities data;
Space Projections: Preparation of space projections based upon workload volume projections using NCI methodologies and benchmarks;
Staffing Analysis and Projections: Using NCI’s methodology, determine the optimal staffing levels based upon current and projected workload units;
Real Estate Analysis: Collection and analysis of information on client owned and leased real estate;
Functional Analysis: Preparation of flow charts and relationship diagrams showing current work processes and configurations and recommendations for improvements;
Data Acquisition: Attendance at client meetings, note taking;
Operations Improvement: Using computer simulation software, analysis of current and preparation of recommended changes in work flow, staffing, and operational parameters for improved outcomes; and,
Client Presentations: Prepare client presentation materials for the above analyses.
Position Requirements:
Advanced degree in directly related field (architecture, hospital administration, public health, industrial engineering)
Familiarity with facilities planning and programming methodologies
Excellent analytical skills – problem solving, quantitative analyses including basic knowledge of statistics
Excellent writing and presentation skills – technical writing; graphics / diagramming
Provider experience a plus
Previous consulting (or similar) experience – minimum of 1 year
Excellent computer skills, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
Some knowledge / understanding of simulation modeling
