Job Description:
Nielsen is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join the NC Ventures team. As a part of NC Ventures you will be an integral part of a high energy team that is revolutionizing the way that the industry will analyze advertising performance and impact on shopper behavior.
As a Technical Business Analyst you will work cross-functionally with Product Leadership, IT Development and QA to ensure requirements are developed and continuity is enforced through specifications phases of development in our NC Ventures environment.
The Technical Business Analyst will be hands-on, and will be expected to bring new and fresh ideas to the company and its solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with other developers, architects, and analysts in creating solutions that meet business requirements to achieve time to market and data solutions. Phase 1 is focused on developing data capabilities that will be delivered to clients via a project based custom study. Phase 1 releases the power of the combined data. Phase 2 is developing a syndicated front end solution, leveraging Answers™ On-Demand.
This position is responsible for creating business requirements and functional specification documents for both software and database applications. The ideal candidate must have experience in custom application development as well as excellent data analysis and design skills. The ability to prioritize and work effectively (both independently and within a team) in a fast paced environment is essential and knowledge of data warehousing is a plus.
This position involves subject matters across a broad range of data sets. It's important to have both broad knowledge in all of the related subject matter, and to have depth in as many as possible.
Qualifications
Skills Required:
-3-6 years Business Analyst or related experience.
-Expert at translating business requirements into technical requirements (Use Cases, workflows, high-level storyboards down to detailed functional specification).
-Familiar with data modeling, and database design for relational and multidimensional databases.
-CPG industry (retail and/or manufacturing) or Media Advertising industry experience with a business background in marketing research.
-Experience with large Data warehousing projects.
-Good relationship-building skills and the ability to locate information through networking.
-Highly effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
-Ability to work effectively as a team member, across project teams, and independently.
-Strong facilitation and requirements-solicitation skills.
Knowledge Preferred:
-Retail POS or Transaction level data experience, with understanding of upc rollups to products and categories
-Nielsen Television panels and facts (NPM, MM)
-Nielsen Digital Plus (Cable set top box data)
-Nielsen Homescan panel and facts
-Nielsen Online panel and facts
