Job Details: Senior Retail Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

• Serve on the Retail Technology Team, responsible for the support of all hardware and software utilized within the store environment.


• This position will work with the Applications Development Teams on requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, support and documentation functions for store applications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

• Assists in the technical design and support for designated software technologies such as SAP Triversity POS, Shortcuts, and Attendance Enterprise.


• Acts as liaison to IT and business to gather requirements for software enhancements and upgrades.


• Recommends, develops, and tests new technology and develops solutions, documentation for store environment.


• Works closely with the business and IT to develop cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex requirements.


• Develops project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth; including alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or change to existing ones.


• Recommends and designs new technologies and solutions, including hardware and software, and provides documentation for store projects.


• Responsible for delivering assignments within specified time frames, adhering to all established standards and guidelines individually or as a member of a project team.


• Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, on development, enhancements and upgrades to store environment. Manages these vendors in troubleshooting situations.


• Negotiates pricing, terms and conditions and technical requirements with vendors.


• Assess complex technical problems to develop, appraise and recommend solutions.


• Evaluate new technologies to solve business requirements.


• Responsible for 24 x 7 support for designated application and infrastructure area.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline or equivalent experience required.


• Minimum 7 years of IT experience.


• Demonstrated problem solving and communication skills while developing collaborative relationships.


• Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with both, internal and external customers


• Must be a high energy team player with a positive working attitude and posses good documentation skills


• Retail IT experience is required.
