Position Title: Business Analyst - Consultant
Primary Purpose: Serve as lead analyst on complex projects. Work with end users to understand their business needs, investigate options and prepare detailed Business and Functional Requirements and Use Cases for a systems solution.
Convey the future direction of systems and the impact of those systems on the client’s business. Analyze and document business processes, workflows, data flows, use cases, and other requirements. Assist in the creation of estimates and the testing and implementation of the systems solutions.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Lead the project definition and Requirements gathering processes for the most complex systems projects. Drive the completion of thorough requirements analysis and development of Use Cases for the business processes being affected. Work with business and technical resources to determine whether the requirements can be reasonably met within the current AMA technical environment, and propose solutions for meeting the Business requirements in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
Conduct turnover sessions and provide insight and clarifications of the Requirements document and Use Cases to the Applications development, QA and UAT teams. Assure that all deliverables adhere to the AMA methodology standards. 50%
2. Work with the AMA IT teams to develop detailed requirements for a variety of project types, including custom application development, SharePoint, architecture, infrastructure and package implementation projects. Perform feasibility studies and recommend approaches to assess and determine alternatives. 40%
3. Report project status regularly to team lead. Recognize and identify potential areas where existing procedures require re-engineering, or where new ones need to be developed. Raise all concerns, issues and risks to management. Share intellectual knowledge and mentor junior staff to structure problem resolutions using a methodical process. Assist in proper validation to ensure that issues have been resolved. Enhance professional and technical knowledge through participation in informal and formal training sessions. 10%
