Global Hyatt Corporation seeks a self-motivated professional accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. The primary responsibility of this position is the oversight of a team of seven Hyatt professionals and their assigned processes within the Global Hyatt monthly and quarterly close process. This includes ensuring proper review of journal entries and monthly and quarterly Income Statement and Balance Sheet account reconciliations across all Global Hyatt entities. Additional responsibilities include the evaluation and development of the Managers, Senior and Staff Accountants in their organization so that they may grow as professionals and elevate to higher levels of responsibility. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be expected to identify projects to improve the accounting processes for which they are responsible and manage teams to ensure the projects are successfully executed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Areas of responsibility are expected to include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lodging Revenue and Unbilled Receivables derived from Management, Franchise, Technical Advisory and Sublicense & Service Fees
- Unbilled Receivables related to the monthly Corporate Bill for costs passed to hotels
- Self Insurance Liabilities and related Expenses
- Accounting for Hyatt’s Gold Passport, gift certificate and stored value card programs
- Expenses incurred and Liabilities held for the benefit of the Hyatt Chain of properties
- For each of the assigned areas, the Senior Manager will be responsible for:

- Direct review of complex journal entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Ensuring that the quality of work delivered by their team members meets expectations
- Establishing and implementing development plans for all members of their organization
- Conducting interviews and evaluating individuals for hiring and promotion
- Fielding and resolving inquiries from Management and external auditors
- In addition, the Senior Manager will be expected to:
- Identify and drive improvements to processes in their organization that will result in reductions to financial exposure and increases in close efficiency
- Develop and execute analyses to validate financial information prior to the GL close
- Contribute to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls
Qualifications:
· 8-10 years of experience in corporate accounting and/or public accounting
· Prior supervisory experience required
· Bachelor degree in Accounting required
· CPA required
· Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and financial accounting systems
· Oracle experience strongly preferred
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
